Jesus ROCKS!!! No...no he doesn't....
Man I just found out an artist I really like, Sufjan Stevens, is a Christian musician, but this is the first time where I still like them. The Christian themes are very subtle in most cases, so I don't feel like I'm being bombarded, like I do by Creed for instance (plus they suck anyway.) Christian rock just pisses me off. That's a fucking oxymoron. You can't rock and sing about God. It's not possible, it's a crime against nature, it's fucking disturbing! I don't recall sex, drugs, rebellion, anger, and depression being prevalent themes in the Bible. Step away from the electric guitar Tremonti...step away. Go pick up the harp or something. Ok, so it may seem harsh that the simple presence of Christian themes within a song causes me to turn off the radio. Let me explain though, biblethumpers, before you send wierd Aletheia church kids to knock on my door. I am not Christian, so how in the hell would I relate? I can't get into to being "Taken Higher," I like my tunes to be depressing and sweet or rockus and angry! And, newsflash, Christianity can't be made to seem cool, it isn't meant to be. It's not supposed to evolve with the times, it's a fucking religion, the ancient word. Like this Ryan Cabrera Cat, his stupid pop song is about God, but boy isn't his spikey hair edgy? It's so sad how the church thinks it needs to have an edge in order to attract the youth. Hey, ever consider the idea that maybe religion is becoming obsolete and that's why the youth aren't exactly flocking on Sunday mornings? It's not because the preacher doesn't have a mohawk people!
